Why I invented this tool.
After years of climbing stairs armed with nothing but a block of wood, a pencil, and a tape measure—basically the Inspector’s Starter Pack—I kept thinking there had to be a better way to measure riser height variations. I was tired of bending over, kneeling, squinting, and occasionally performing what can only be described as “accidental yoga” just to get an accurate reading. And let’s be honest: the older I get, the harder it is to pop back up off the ground with dignity.
